Lee Ellison, Jr. M.D.
Dr. Lee Ellison, Jr. MD joined GI Associates in August of 2023.
Dr. Ellison grew up in Jackson Mississippi and attended Ole Miss for his undergraduate degree followed by the University of Mississippi Medical Center for Medical School. He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He subsequently completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA where he was selected for a third year advanced endoscopy curriculum primarily focused on ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatoscopy) proficiency. Dr. Ellison’s GI interests include: Colon Cancer screening, complex polyp resections, GI bleeding, device-assisted enteroscopy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and ERCP. Dr. Ellison is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Ellison is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
Dr. Ellison is incredibly excited to be back home in Jackson with his wife and their growing family. His interests outside of medicine include: cooking/grilling, Ole Miss Athletics, freshwater fishing, and reading. Dr. Ellison is also an active member in the Presbyterian Church and has participated in multiple international medical and non-medical mission trips during his career.
