Dr. Sara Waller Rippel joined GI Associates in 2011 to practice Pediatric Gastroenterology.
Dr. Rippel received her Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Economics. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and a Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Rippel is board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology and continues to maintain certification in General Pediatrics as well. She also maintains certification in basic life support and pediatric advanced life support. She continues to be actively involved in research and has authorized numerous academic articles. She is a member of numerous professional organizations and has presented at national conferences including Digestive Disease Week and NASPGHAN. She has three children and enjoys tennis in her free time.
Dr. Rippel is affiliated with most major hospitals in the area and is currently accepting new patients. She has clinic at our main office in Flowood and satellite clinics in Vicksburg and Magee. Please call 601-355-1234 to set up an appointment.

Doctor and staff were both absolutely incredible! Dr. Rippel was so patient, kind, and listened to all of my concerns. I didn’t feel rushed or that I needed to hurry. The only two reasons I’m not giving a full 5 star review is because our wait time was extremely long and there was zero entertainment for children in the pediatric GI office.
Dr.Rippel was my oldest daughters doctor over 7 years ago. She was kind and listened. So when my granddaughter has to go see a specialist, I wanted it to be Dr. Rippel.
Dr. Ripple is the absolute best! She is very compassionate, kind and makes sure you understand everything with your child’s diagnosis. Her nurse is amazing as well! I can’t say enough good things about Dr Ripple, nurse Jamie and the rest of the staff at GI Associates of Flowood.

We had such a great experience at GI Associates this week as a new patient. Everyone from the lady that holds the door for patients, front desk, nursing staff, wonderful doctor and lab techs were absolutely amazing to both my child and myself. My son was so thankful that everyone made him feel so comfortable and the environment was so inviting. We absolutely give them 5 stars and even more if we could!

My son was very comfortable before, during, and after his procedures. They took very good care of him and made him feel very relaxed and loved!
Dr. Rippel was very down to earth and nice. Also personable. Those qualities are helpful when dealing with children whatever the problem. She understood our worries and soothed us with her mild tone and encouraging words. My daughter has another visit planned and we look forward to seeing her again.
