About On-Demand Visits
On-demand virtual visits are telehealth appointments available on a first-come, first-served basis, providing access to experienced, specialty-trained NPs and PAS under the supervision of board-certified gastroenterologists who can order labs, imaging, procedures, and prescriptions. Stan your online intake anytime; visits are available Monday—Friday, 9am—4pm CT. On-demand visits are currently available to established patients only. New patients must first complete an in-office visit before using the on-demand service.

What types of issues can be addressed?
On-demand virtual visits are suitable for most common GI conditions and concerns, similar to those patients would normally be seen for in an office visit. On-demand providers will be able to discuss, diagnose, prescribe treatment, and get you referred to imaging or order labs if necessary. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.
How do I schedule an on-demand visit?
No need to schedule! With on-demand visits, you can connect with a gastroenterology provider without a prior appointment. You can start an on-demand vidual visit through our online platform at gi.md. On-demand virtual visits are currently available Monday—Friday, 9am—4pm CT
Who can use on-demand visits?
On-demand visits are currently available to established patients who are 18 years or older and located in Mississippi at the time of the visit. Patients will need to enter valid insurance coverage to use this service; we cannot accommodate cash pay for on-demand visits at this time. We are happy to serve patients who do not meet these criteria with a scheduled appointment.
What if I need a prescription during an on-demand visit?
If a prescription is necessary, the healthcare provider will send it directly to your preferred pharmacy.
Does my insurance cover on-demand visits?
Yes, on-demand visits are covered by insurance plans similar to in-office visits. You will receive a bill for the portion of the on-demand virtual visit that was not covered by your insurance shortly after your visit. This bill will provide options and instructions for submitting payment.
What are the wait times like?
Wait times depend on how many patients are in line ahead of you, but most of the time the wait is less than 30 minutes. For the best experience, we recommend completing your intake and joining the virtual queue as early as you can. You’ll receive a text and email when the provider is ready to see you, so you don’t have to wait in front Of your screen. The intake can be completed anytime on our website.
